From version 3.52, Initiate can support custom application icons. This lets you change the appearance of any app by simply adding a gif file to your sd card with the name of the application.
The image above shows phwelo's icons with the standard skin and a cloud background.
How to use custom icons
- Create the folder Icon in the DCIM folder in your SD card \DCIM\Icon
- If you are using a lifedrive, then create the folder in the Lifedrive drive.
- To replace the icon for Filez, add a gif called Filez.gif or a bitmap called Filez.bmp
- Update Initiate's list once (menu/update)
Credit to Horace at TreoLauncher for this idea - Thank You.
You can find a couple of great pre-made icon sets here
- Crystal Clear icon set by DukeDuke
- Iphone style icons by gruswitz
- Icons by phwelo. Some of these are labelled to cover existing common treo apps. Some are generic.
Notes for Creating Icons
- Icons should ideally be 44*44 pixels (48*48 is ok)
- The top left pixel of the icon will be used as the transparrent colour
