Removing Magic Tones

The easy way and the best way to remove magic tones is simply to delete it with the standard launcher.

The most recent versions of magic tones don't have an icon in the launcher (as you can't launch them) but they do appear in the delete menu.

  1. Launch the default built in launcher
  2. Press menu/delete
  3. pick magic tones.

Checking it is 100% deleted

If you have tried to delete Magic Tones with some 3rd party launchers that don't delete properly, or have tried to delete it with filez, then there may be a leftover file.

To check that for leftovers, you will need to have Filez installed.

First, you need to do a debug reset

  1. Hold the up key (don't let go)
  2. Start a reset by removing and replacing the battery
  3. When the reset is 100% finished, then let go of the up key

Now launch Filez

  1. Go to 'view and edit files'
  2. expand the 'internal' drive
  3. find TonesLibraryLib.prc
  4. Delete any copies of TonesLibraryLib.prc that are not in ROM
    1. (If you have selected to show files in ROM (top right checkbox) then they have a small computer chip icon next to them.)
  5. Delete MagicTones.prc

if neither of these files are left, then there is nothing left of Magic Tones.

Finally, you should do a normal reset to cancel out the effects of the debug reset and let applications register normally.
