smart search not working for letter after P

While I enable smart search(preferences-launch settings-enable SmartSearch checked) Any letters before Q work fine. I type a, then it is normal as a program start with a came up, I hit backspace and then type q, nothing came up. Then backupspace again, and c then many programs came up, then backspace again and type r, nothing came up. 

Why is that?

Answer It is cause by CJKOS (Chinese system) 

In the enhance tab, uncheck a option called "sort records in CJK", 
SmartSearch will work as expected.
